Alter™- Creating Dementia Friendly Congregations

Alter™ members

Alter™ was established to address dementia-related disparities in the African American community by transforming predominantly African American faith communities into dementia-friendly environments.

Recognizing the vital role of places of worship in the social and emotional lives of their members, Alter™ equips these communities with the necessary tools and resources to support individuals living with Alzheimer's disease and related dementias, as well as their care partners. Through education, worship, and support, Alter™ ensures that all congregation members, including those with dementia, feel welcomed and cared for.
